David Michael M. San Juan is a Full Professor at the Filipino/Philippine Studies Department of De La Salle University-Manila (DLSU-Manila), and an Affiliate at the Southeast Asia Research Center and Hub (SEARCH) in the same university. President of Pambansang Samahan sa Linggwistika at Literaturang Filipino/National Organization of Filipino Linguistics and Literature (PSLLF). Former Vice Head of the National Committee on Language and Translation under the Philippine National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). Public information officer of ACT-Private Schools. One of the congressional nominees of ACT Teachers Partylist for the 2016, 2019, and 2022 elections. In various times, served as legislative consultant for two elected partylist organizations. Makata ng Taon/Poet of the Year 2010 (awarded by Commission on the Filipino Language/Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino/KWF). Mananaysay ng Taon/Essayist of the Year 2009 (awarded by KWF). Holds a PhD in Southeast Asian Studies and a current student of PhD in Development Studies (Research Track). One of the lead conveners of Alyansa ng Mga Tagapagtanggol ng Wikang Filipino/Alliance of the Defenders of the Filipino Language (Tanggol Wika). Associate member of Division I (Governmental, Educational and International Policies) of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP).
